Givenchy 2013 Resort

After looking over the Givenchy 2013 Resort, I couldn't help but think that Riccardo Tisci and I could be friends. I honestly feel this way. (Is that weird?) Tisci always turns out looks I LOVE and NEED in my life. That includes ALL the knee high boots that he has produced for the last three collections.
Tisci has cited "gypsy" and "traveling, nomadic woman" as references for the collection and I thought, "Yeah, I could see that." It's the use of the paisley print and the scarf like draping that lends itself to that feel. The print paired with the blocks of black and white works in a way I could have never put together, but definitely want to wear. More importantly, I want to travel the world dressed like this.
Highlights of the collection for me included the boots (obviously), the cape like effect on some of the looks, and the sarouel pants that Tisci does so well. I should own a pair in every color. The only thing I felt was missing from this collection was some jewelry. I want to wear all these looks with arm fulls of gold and silver bangles and big, curly hair. You know, to really touch on that gypsy vibe. I'd really want to push these looks over the top.
Unfortunately, Riccardo and I are not friends, but I know that's only because we've not yet met. I'm certain once we do, we'll hit it off right away...

Givenchy Fall / Winter 2012

The very first thing I noticed about the Givenchy 2012 Fall/Winter show was... I need a pair of these boots. I have a serious weak spot for a just over the knee boot. Riccardo Tisci gave us a collection with dark lips and full of coats and jackets that should find a home in my closet. (Mainly those boots need to find a home in my closet.) It was all very moody, sleek and Matrix-like. There are definitely some pieces my "residual image" would be wearing whilst fighting the agents with Neo. Dressed like this, the Machines won't have a chance. I'd just need a new pair of black sunglasses. Then there's the leather. Are those quilted leather pants? I'm usually not one for leather pants, but I can make a change for these. I could change a lot of things for Givenchy... but, let's not get into that.

Givenchy 2012 Pre Fall

For those of you who don't know... I am in awe of Riccardo Tisci. There is not a season that goes by that I am not happily sucked into his Catholic Gothic fairy tales. I want to go wherever he is willing to take me. The Givenchy 2012 Pre Fall collection, shot outside on the streets of New York, was full of structured silhouettes. I love jackets and coats with a tough, androgynous feel. It's impossible to put on a coat like this and not feel strong, not feel like you can take on the day. This collection also featured a beige on cream lace like print transformed into soft, but serious looking dresses. I thought to myself, "Where could I go in this dress?" Dinner along the Champs-Elysees?
