Smashing Pumpkins

It's fall in New York City and the air is now a little crisp, but that hardly stopped me from wearing a cute dress. Enter my STELLA MCCARTNEY snake jacquard tunic from 2014 Resort; It was look number 2. The dress features a narrow v neck and wide skirt with pockets. (Dresses with pockets are just so perfect...) This snake print featured heavily in the collection paired with florals and satins. For inspiration MCCARTNEY said that she was "looking at the type of woman who would have a snake tattoo". While I'm not opposed to tattoos, I think I'll skip the inked serpent and stick to the silk and cotton jacquard variety.

What initially drew me to this dress was the golden color and the detail, but then immediately I knew my FENDI Liberty pumps would pair perfectly with it. The brown leather and suede played well against the python and the subtle lurex thread. In the never ending pursuit to build a respectable wardrobe, I am conscious of every single purchase. I strongly consider whether the garment will have a place in my collection and if I already own something that can be paired with it. This piece was unique and definitely unlike my other frocks. It stole my heart and so, I had to have it.

We found these orange gourds on a quiet street in the Meat Packing district. It seems they had survived Halloween and were well on their way to Thanksgiving. Perhaps as a pie. I promise no pumpkins were harmed during this photo shoot.
