Summer Blues

Day four of New York Fashion Week took place on a sunny September 7th. I had a show to attend and really wanted to get out and take some pictures, so naturally I ended up at Lincoln Center. The weather was particularly summery and so I opted for a casual jeans and t shirt look.

The top is the BALENCIAGA Sphinx T Shirt from the 2013 Pre Fall CapsuleT's collection. The dolman sleeve shirt reads Join a Weird Trip, features a colorful Egyptian themed screen print, and is a reference to Nicolas Ghesquiere's 2012 Fall / Winter show. The original collection of sci fi and pyramid inspired tops was aptly named Egypto Funk. I completed my outfit with my silver denim YSL Belle du Jour.

Unsurprisingly, I don't own many pairs of jeans. I would just rather wear a pretty dress. These STELLA MCCARTNEY jeans found me on just another ordinary shopping day. I was casually browsing when I saw them; a pair of high waisted bell bottom jeans. I took my size and tried them on. With just a hint of stretch and a cute zipper detail on the pocket, I knew they were going to be the perfect pair of Summer blues. Initially, I was worried they were going to be too long. If the pant required alterations, the hem detail and shape would have changed the original design. I thought about my YSL Hortense wedges and hoped they would be a good fit. I brought the pants home and tried them on together. They were a perfect match, no alterations necessary. Sometimes in life, and in Fashion, things just work out...
