Flying Dutchman

Twenty minutes by train outside of Amsterdam lies the Zaanse Schans, a district offering a snapshot of 18th and 19th century Dutch life. It is home to a bakery museum, cheese making factory, and most notably windmills, many of which are operational. Zaanse Schans is a place to visit with someone you love.

My midi Jonathan Simkhai dress is from the Spring 2016 collection. I was drawn to the lace appliqué detail, halter neck, and the pleated tulle skirt. Black and white is always a classic combination and I felt it was a piece I needed to add to my closet. I wore my favorite Giuseppe Zanotti suede cutout sandals with a recessed heel.

The Flying Dutchman was a legendary ghost ship that was unable to make port and doomed to sail the ocean forever. During our visit, we did see boats sailing by, but luckily no ghosts. In northern Holland we only found windmills and love. There was an abundance of both.
